If you need alcohol to lighten up and to have a good time, something is wrong. Either your job is too stressful or your life is unfulfilling. Get therapy, a better job, or change whatever is the source of your stress. Don't numb it with alcohol every weekend (or weeknight), then drive a car, or make bad decisions that affect others, and then come on here arrogantly defending your actions because you were lucky enough to not hurt or kill anyone because of your drinking.
I'm sick of people who can't control their drinking and then make bad decisions as a result of it. There are far too many of you.
We live in an area where parents are actually chaperoning parties for underage kids and providing alcohol too. The parents are equally guilty in fostering a culture of excessive drinkers and contributing to alcohol related crimes.
So am I a pearl clutching, buttock clenched DCUMer? I don't really give a shit if I am. I know I have every right to complain about the number of alcoholics, excessive drinkers, and the alcohol related crimes.
If you can't handle drinking, it's easy...DON'T.DO.IT.AT.ALL.
You're just an unpleasant and incredibly judgmental person. Live and let live. It'll help you relax because you're incredibly high strung.

OK. What if you can handle drinking?

Do you really need that stick up your ass that much?

See?

What do you do for fun with your friends on weekend evenings? Just curious.

Do you eat meat OP? As a non-meat eater, I cannot understand people's needs to consume meat. Eliminate meat consumption and you eliminate many social evils and disease. What is this addiction in our society that makes it impossible for people to give up meat? Is it at all possible to have a great party without serving meat? The difference between you and me is that I would never actually say the above (despite it actually being accurate when phrased the way you did it). I just choose not to eat meat and let people who choose to eat it eat it without me looking over their shoulders passing judgment. I even - GASP - serve it when I have parties because people like it. I guarantee there is something you enjoy (perhaps meat) that others do not and could easily be perplexed by you. So just shut up.
Do you consume dairy OP? As a non-dairy eater, I cannot understand people's needs to consume dairy. Eliminate dairy consumption and you eliminate many social evils and disease. What is this addiction in our society that makes it impossible for people to give up dairy? Is it at all possible to have a great taco party without sour cream and cheese? If you need dairy to enjoy life, maybe something is wrong.
That was fun... NEXT.
