Yes always, but I think the v necks are for old men. Love the crew shirts even if they show.

Under dress shirts, polos, and button downs, yes.

DH is very hairy and sweats a lot He has always worn undershirts under dress shirts (and all shirts!) but you can still see some hair poke up (unless his dress shirt is buttoned to the top with a tie) and on hot days still sweats to his dress shirt. So maybe a lot of the men you are seeing are wearing undershirts, op! Don't hate on hairy guys who run to the overheated

Dress shirts should be white, pale blue, pink, or acru. They can have stripes or patterns but they should be light in color. Dark colors may be shirts w button fronts but they are not dress shirts.

Which brands are thick enough so they don't require undershirts?

Do you replace undershirts as soon as you start to see stains (after washing)? That seems to happen so fast.

Also shirts should be laundered w every wear so they shouldn't get pit stains.

Either a white t-shirt, or a white wife beater.

Yes. And judging by how quickly pit stains develop in them I'd say he's saved a fortune in dress shirts.
