However, I don't think 'masticating' is a play on 'masterbating'.. 'to masticate' simply means 'to chew'.

He was one of the best English teachers I ever had.
The Redskins have lost their copyright protection on their name so they will now change the name because they have lost the highly lucrative merchandizing rights attached to the name. Within two years the name will be changed. Snyder is just spinning it so it appears the name change occurs as a result of overwhelming public demand in order to not disenfranchise the thousands of fans who remain passionate about retain the Redskins name.
