Cursing serves a purpose many times.
Nomnomnom is exclusively for morons, and therefore it IS offensive to my ears, exactly like poor grammar would be
As a Christian , I believe people saying "Jesus Christ! " and " God D***" breaks a commandment. On the other hand... It is also flattering because they know the name of Jesus has power and gets attention without being threatening. They don't say Allah , Buddha , atheist , earth or sun. They know where the power is .
