Nope. The only "body spray" going on my toddler is sunscreen.

I'm gonna have to agree with this. I will stand up as the sole dissenter. An occasional spritz for a 3 year old boy is CUTE I've never smelled AXE anyway. It's a little off putting for him to smell like a man, though.

Also, I painted my daughter's toenails last night. *ducks stones*

I teach kindergarten and my Latino boy students regularly come coated in cologne. Not cute, in my opinion. The kids are, though. It's one thing if a kid is old enough to ask for it (to be like dad/grandpa/brother/whoever) but no child needs it to smell better or be "CUTE." Paint your children's toenails all you want, I think that's totally different.

I am the OP, and have rarely posted on Dcurban and I can swear to you it is not a troll. I don't understand why people claim troll so much ( long time reader), but I do agree this was a strange question. Thanks for everyone that replied, I have shared this with my neighbor ( especially the tips on essential oils). I think we have definitely deterred her from the axe.

No mentioned this. It will attract bugs. When he is playing out in the yard, he will have a cloud of mosquitos, gnats, bees, etc. because they are attracted to sweet smelling things. I figured this out when I would have a cloud of bugs around me, and dh wouldn't. I asked the dr, and he said the same thing. If you eat sweets or put scented body lotion, hair spray, perfume, deoderant on yourself, then you are a bug magnet.

Pretty sure early & extensive exposure to perfumes increases allergies later on in life, so I vote weird with some notable downsides.

If we wants an alternative, she can use coconut oil as a hair conditioner or as a body lotion for her kid. Subtle and shouldn't cause any health issues for her kid or his classmates.

The chemicals in that or any body spray can not be good for a small child. Or a grown up. Or anyone.

Maybe she should try old school Ivory soap.

And if she really wants him to "smell" better, she can get roll on essential oils.

Gross. But no more so than all the other scented products marketed for babies and kids.

No way I would spray all those chemicals on my 2 YO. A bar of soap, that's all that is needed.

Doesn't it irritate his skin? If she wants him to smell good just use baby lotion on his skin...spray J&J no more tangles in his hair...use the baby stuff IMO. Plenty of good smelling 'bath' stuff for kids out there!
