Deal and Wilson aren't good enough? You seem to want everything, but for $800K you're going to have to make some sacrifices. It's either much further out in the suburbs or in an area where you're going to have to roll up your sleeves a bit to help make the schools better.

Not the PP you quoted but Takoma Park is MD. In DC, it's just Takoma. And yes, the schools in Takoma Park are good and it's a fantastic neighborhood. DC side also nice but schools not so great.

Takoma Park, MD is part of MoCoO and therefore MCPS. The schools are good.

It is not on OP's list, but it is indeed "close-in" and "vibrant" and "safe." And yes, the schools are good.
