Subject: Do you call your MIL?
I call my MIL (and FIL) quite often, probably more often than DH does (and if DH calls his parents when I am around, I usually speak to them a bit). I ask them about their lives and give them updates on ours. But I have an unusually good relationship with them and genuinely love them and love being around them (I am also the one who often tells DH we should go visit them - they don't live very far).
It also helps that (a) I am very close to my parents and my family (everyone in my family talks to everyone else all the time) and automatically imported that into my relationship with DH's family (b) both my parents were/are on very good terms with their ILs and so I am used to the 'ILs are close' paradigm.

NO way. He does not call my parents either. But everyone gets along fine. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Only at her birthday, Mother's Day, and when DH asks me to talk to her about something. She knows how to bring me to tears in less than 5 minutes, so I always hope she won't pick up.

God no.
My blood pressure rises as is when H talks to her and is within my earshot. I'm much happier when it's nice out and either he or I can go outside while he has the weekly conversation.

No. My husband talks to his parents once a week. He used to hand the phone to me so I could talk to them, but I don't really like talking on the phone, and he's stopped doing that. I talk to my parents, he talks to his.

Probably call MIL twice a week just to chat. We also email and text regularly.

No. MIL is not one to chit chat on the phone, and I think DH should be the one to call if he wants to speak to his parents.
