I dig it except the piss art. It's a few bedrooms too small for my family though!

More to do in Santa Monica but venice is awesome too. That said, location is really important within Venice. If you like the Venice vibe, consider the Ocean Park neighborhood of Santa Monica. That gets you walking distance to Main Street, as do certain parts of Venice. Lots of cute places to eat/shop there. Schools in Venice are horrible but doesn't sound like that's a consideration.

OP here. Wow....that is awesome! It's a bit over the range I'm looking in but I might be able to squeeze on the must-see list. Thanks!

To those who asked, I work as a design consultant and travel internationally for work. Otherwise, I'm very close to home so no work commutes in the cards for me unless they include the airport.

Quoting myself to say...I said it was awesome before I saw the office setup the owner/architect uses. Not only is it awesome, it is practically perfect for my work/live situation. It's on the list for certain.

I am currently in the LA area, so glad I could help you. Good luck.

There's a 4000 sq ft place in Beverly Hills PO in that price range on 3/4 acre that might suit your needs - http://www.hiltonhyland.com/listings/9321-cherokee-lane-beverly-hills-ca-90210

That's because you're accustomed to to the third world country looking shit shacks along with high crime here in DC.

We go to La Jolla every summer and we always stay in these style beach homes. The open space and light is fab. Also-- we don't have all out crap with us on vacation and only my favorite outfits in the closet so it feels so great.

Please share more information about the beach homes in La Jolla. I didn't know that you could rent homes there for the summer.

I am more of a traditional kinda gal, but I like the house. I personally could not live in it as it's too cold for me, but I do think it is a neat house. The lines in it are lovely.

Extra long garden hose would be handy too, to keep flames at bay.

In all seriousness, I am very worries about this historic drought in Cali??

Definitely take lots of powdered water. It will come in handy.
