I was a virgin when I was single. So, that aspect has improved after getting married.

Love having children, but there is the responsibility of looking after them which can be a drag sometimes.

If I had a full time nanny. housekeeper, chauffeur, maid, cook - I would be thrilled.

First a big eye roll to those who said "nothing"... I also call BS on that. We're not saying we don't love our spouses and/or children if we miss something, geez.

Ok, off my soapbox and on to my list (in no particular order), I miss...

-sleeping in
-uninterrupted sleep
-spontaneous happy hours
-my pre-baby body
-going to the bathroom by myself
-going out to dinner without someone needing to go to the bathroom 3 times, trying to crawl under the table or trying to crawl into my lap
-first kisses
-having no idea what an episode of Spongebob Squarepants was like

I miss only having to feed myself. I could make a pot of soup and a pot roast on Sunday afternoon and eat those all week. No other cooking, no meal planning, no figuring out what picky eaters will eat, no husband eating devouring the good stuff before I get a chance, no one eating some critical ingredient needed for meal I was planning to make. If I had nothing else in the pantry and was too lazy to shop, I could happily survive on a bowl of cereal for dinner.

Meeting a friend after work for a drink without calendar wrangling. Last minute travel. Anything last minute really. Doing nothing on Sunday but reading the paper and maybe wandering to meet a friend for brunch.

-window shopping. All shopping/errands now are planned, and in-and-out as quick as possible. Leisurely shopping only happens online!
-sleeping in
-grownup pool time... short swim followed by a long nap/book time. Without worrying about anyone drowning or pooping themselves.
-hot baths. I never, ever get to take them anymore.

Miss the times that even though I am a loser, would take a woman home and the feeling about being naked together for the first time. Other than that, nothing really.

ah no-- Yes, I had a lot of single friends when I was in my early 20's. But most of my friends started getting married as we entered our late 20's. I got married in my early 30's..
Money- I had more money after I married DH, and we were making a double income. I certainly wasn't dirt poor, but I didn't start earning 6 figures until I was married.

How come it wasn't fun? Didn't you have lots of single friends and money? For introverts, or people who worked too hard or were poor, I could see that. But having a six figure salary to spend on yourself, and always a party to go to, having kids was a huge change.

A more peaceful mind, if that makes sense. Now I feel like my mind is always racing from one responsibility to the next. I don't have the ability to relax anymore. It's exhausting. Maybe I should take up meditation.
