Plus eight weeks during the summers.

And reading all these posts makes me doubly grateful I don't have to track or worry about whether I have enough days or hours (!) to take time off when I need or want it.

Unlimited pto is usually a scam. Illegal in California. I used to have it. Unlimited was almost equivalent to none if you wanted to keep your job.

Not where I work. Everyone takes vacations and the time they need to deal with their sick kids. Plus major holidays.

Do people take a long weekend here and there or do they take a week or two week vacation every summer?

I take long weekends to work on projects/goals. Anything more is too boring with DH.

Teachers are among those who receive the lowest SAT scores.

WAH 3 days a week, go in 2. Flexible schedule so I can trade hours if I work extra. 20 days annual leave. 13 days sick leave. 11 holidays. I roll over a lot of sick leave generally. $130k, which is low for my position/experience but worth it for the flexibility.

Posters, please indicate whether your salary is good for your experience/field rather than just stating what it is. How much you earn doesn't given any context to whether or not you have a good benefits package.

But you get time off in the summer, yes?

Hard to schedule when you get sick.

No, but that's why you have 10 sick days.

OP, PTO is often tied to length of service, which is also related to pay, so you are likely to see higher paid people with more vacation. My company 23 days off is tied to 15 years of service. It is considerably less for newer/younger employees.

How is length of service related to pay? Where I work it is certainly not - though it is often related to experience. And no-one earns the $200k plus salaries so frequently boasted of here. The vast majority earn under $100k (as do I), most significantly under.

Hired at $93K.
Work from home.
25 days PTO upon first day of work plus the federal holidays (8?)

I was THRILLED with this PTO. I'm used to having to earn leave hour-by-hour each pay period.
