If you weren't so tight with the Colace, I'd consider it.

Or gonna charge my insurance $18/pill for it. I brought my own meds and only took their percocets.

Soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap, lip balm, cream, robe, slippers, hair clip, gum
Snacks ( you will be hungry in the middle of the night), outfit for the baby to go home, warm blanket to cover baby, your own outfit (something loose), phone charger. This is literally all that I used . The rest of the stuff I packed was unecessary.

the first time i brought a ton of items, with my second 2 months ago, i was more minimalist. the only things i really missed this time around were my camelbak eddy water bottle (somehow got left behind and that stupid cup they provide you is just not convenient!) and extra pillows or a boppy.
i had some blood loss and an IV/catheter for 24 hours so sadly the toiletries and special shampoos were not as useful as i had hoped they would be!

Oh doula person you just made me laugh till my husband looked at me like I was crazy. I showed up in active labor with my first two and had home births with my second two. I'm DYING at the image of hanging up my travel posters and setting up my bagel bar and miso soup station (what hospital allows this, anyway?) while going through transition.

I think your intention may have been to get clients but unfortunately your laundry list (yoga mat? Hospital floors? GROSS!!!!) may have had the opposite effect. How can you bring birth announcements? You make those after you have photos of the baby taken. Have you ever actually attended a birth?

Good God! Talk about ridiculous! Absolutely do NOT take Tylenol or advil---those are meds that your nurses need to know about! Posters?! Seriously? A birth ball? Hospitals have those you know.
I'm a nurse. Trust me, we will totally judge any mom that needs four trips from the car to get all of her crap into the hospital room

Man that last was CRAZY. I am expecting #3. The first two times I just brought shampoo/conditioner, and comfy clothes/robe, and outfit for baby. This time I will probably bring my mybreastfriend or whatever that thing is called. I found it helpful last time.

That's cute, OP.

But can you use retinol while nursing?

My little luxury was bringing my own shampoo/conditioner.

I wasn't here for round 1 of this (due in January) but I have tears rolling down my cheeks from laughing so hard at the list. When I hit "miso soup" I started laugh-crying so hard I just was crying. Thanks pregnancy hormones! And thanks, listy doula.

I'm coming back to revive this thread because I thought of it out of the blue and the laborade list made me laugh aloud.

I finally had the baby, and after all of that, rolling in with my hospital bags, would you believe I ended up with an emergency c-section?

The best thing was my own robe and slippers, and a boppy to help with breastfeeding.
