I still have a student cards with a $1500 limit (I hate grad school! ) but DH's card is $25k and I'm am authorized user on that so it's what we put any large charges on.

It's in my name and I don't work anymore, so can't get the ceiling raised, which is a pain when we need plane tickets for our family of 4 to visit family overseas.

Ours is $58K. We have had that limit for 15 years and never asked for an increase, but that poster talking about credit utilization makes me think it wouldn't be a bad idea. We have never approached that, and pay it off every month. In those 15 years our HHI has quintupled, and we do use the card for almost all our expenses, which have definitely increased.

I don't come anywhere near my limit either, but I check my bill carefully every month.

I don't think it's on the Amex bill. My other credit cards don't get much regular use, so I don't get monthly bills.
