There has been quite a bit of research in other cities showing that charters have higher turnover than publics. I don't expect DC is any different.
Maybe not, but let's find out. You'd think DCPS would want to do research on this, if it had reason to think there was less turnover in its schools. It would suggest they are doing something right that their reforms are working!
However, if DCPS management is supporting the growth of charters, I can see how they wouldn't want to do anything that might cause parents to question the superiority of charter school education.
High turnover in DCPS has been well documented. Despite the fact the DCPS teachers are some of the highest paid teachers in the country, the narrow focus on improving test scores and highly punitive evaluation system make it a stressful place to teach. What we don't have is data on DC charter school turnover. The anecdotal evidence suggests that it's much higher.

They do treat their teachers well, that's why there's so little turnover.
Reallyit's all about the pay.
Charter schools have really high turnover because of lower pay and less stability.
