Im almost 14 btw, it depends on the budget, the person and what the parents think, i live in a wealthy city so ive been asking for phone cases, lulu lemon, vera bradley, hollister, American eagle, perfume, makeup, uggs, Nike shoes, earrings, north face jacket, a beats by dre pill speaker.
If your not as wealthy a tv for there room, a iPod, clothes.
If the parents dont agree with makeup and perfume then clothes or a gift card are always good
Other interests: art kits, something they collect, sports stuff, scarves

So funny, because this is what my 30 something friends and I tend to exchange for xmas too
We don't do big gifts, just little tokens but its funny over the years when we go out and we can say to each other across the table "are those earrings from me?" or "which of you gave me this scarf"

I am currently unemployed so I had to be somewhat "creatively / cheap" when figuring out gifts for the family.

I am giving the oldest niece who is 14 a journal and pen;

for the second niece who is 13 I am giving her a set of lip gloss

The other two girls (ten and seven) I have craft kits I got on sale earlier this Summer.

Please don't stress; while gift cards are nice and relatively easy, they also add stress for the amount you are giving... the kids may not notice but the parents will and if you are OK with that... then so be it.

Me too. My daughter is a size 5 but has friends that may not fit that mold. She chooses to not shop there and I am so proud of her!!

They are huge at Julius West middle school as well as a private middle school my niece and nephew go to in Columbia, MD. They aren't just for younger kids. Many of the older kids like doing the headbands too.
