Of course you want to stir the hornet's nest! That's your whole MO. You're the Poolesville booster, which is obvious from the distortions you keep repeating over and over. (For example, it has already been pointed out to you that, contrary to what you say above, nobody has attacked Poolesville HS itself, instead they are attacking you and you happen to be a Poolesville booster. Big difference.) Why are you even following Blair's principal on Twitter if you don't send your kid there? It's not because you want to scroll through hundreds of tweets about how the Blair athletic teams are doing. Do you follow all the high schools in MoCo? In fact, I suspect you're not actually following her because what you've written above seems fabricated.
For the record, and for anybody who might actually take this nonsense seriously: Johnson's Twitter feed has a ton of stuff on Blair sports events. A ton of sports. Also, lots of tweets about Silver Chips (the school newspaper), a MoCo mental health event, Washington Post articles on teenagers' health, Blair kids' arts events, her lunch with the Blair band, Blair kids who have won academic awards, Blair teachers who have won awards, BOE issues, and Blair staffing needs. I scrolled through hundreds, literally hundreds of her tweets before I got to a tweet of a poster for smething called Motown Musical that she appraently attended on December 28--not a selfie with her face in it, and certainly not "pictures" in the plural as you wrote above, and need I point out that December 28 was a holiday. Then back to hundreds more tweets about Blair. Honestly, personal stuff seems to be less than 1% (as a ratio to posts about Blair) of her tweets and I have no problem with it, in fact what's wrong with knowing the principal has an outside life occasionally.
This can all be seen here: https://twitter.com/blairprincipal. I'm not sure if you need a Twitter account to read it. But if you're at all concerned about the nonsense the idiot Blair hater is spewing, and if there's a chance it may affect your family's school choices, I would recommend signing up for Twitter which is easy and free. Your mind will instantly be set at ease.
So weird.

It sure seems that you Blair people do have it in for Poolesville. Otherwise, why would you thinkl criticism of Blair boosts Poolesville?
If you are really a Blair parent you would realize that criticizing Blair would only boost any of the other DCC choices.
Just going on and on claiming distortions and accusing people of boosting Poolesville or some other school just doesn't make Blair look good. Drop it sistah.

The way Bmakes me wonder lair folks attack everyone on any thread who suggests another school as an alternative wonder if there are enrollment problems at Blair.
Johnson came in 2011. So, the students who may be impacted by her decisions are probably still in school,
And the tweeting. What is that all about? I see a lot of pictures of herself, pictures of her going to Broadway, ... selfies. Oy, people, what up?
Attacking Poolesville, RM, what next the spider webs on the porch?

What you didn't point out is that those acceptances are for kids who went through the system before Johnson.
No one said there was white flight to Poolesville. You made up a story to then beat it down.
You also make up a story that Poolesville is all white. Where did that come from?
Frankly, Poolesville should be happy you wont touch it with a ten foot pole.
You Blair trolls should get that chip off your shoulder about Poolesville. Whenever you get criticized you attack Poolesville. They MUST BE GOOD.
In fact, 20:09 said exactly that - that there's white flight from the Blair area. And I haven't seen anybody from Blair that is bashing Poolesville - they were bashing YOU. For obvious reasons, among them being your many lies.
But I'm done with you. Happy trolling.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:The name calling makes me feel that there may be some truth to the criticism about Blair. I don't know about white flight from Silver Sparing and Takoma Park but have seen the statistics on the web that seem to indicate that is true. I saw the piece Dan Reed wrote in the Washington Post as well. MCPS data also seems to show white flight from the system. The white flight is real, no?
Statistics? Sigh. Check out the recent Bethesda Magazine table on 2013 college applications and acceptances (from which you can infer acceptance rates) from top MoCo publics. Here: http://bethesdamagazine.com/College_Chart.pdf.
Blair does as well with acceptances to very top universities, and in many cases it does better, than the W schools. (My kid got into a USNWR top 5 from Blair, and DC knows the other Blair kids accepted to that university, so I can vouch for the acceptance figure shown for that particular university.)
Honestly, the part I've bolded is laughable. You just wave your hand and imply you have actual statistics. Well, put up or shut up. Meanwhile, for the saner readers, the college table and the PP who suggested looking at property values both provide some quantifiable evidence that Blair, the magnet, CAP--and even Silver Spring writ large--are doing very well, thank you.
This is my first post here today. I agree with the PP who said there's a sort of peverse fascination to this thread. It's sort of like watching a train wreck and wondering what's going on (or not going on) in the Poolesville booster's mind. There are lots of great schools in MoCo, really! And just because your school is great doesn't mean you have to cut down every other MoCo school. I do think there's a weird racial aspect to the whole White Flight to Poolesville rant. Frankly, we're white, and we wouldn't touch all-white Poolesville with a ten-foot pole.

Poolesville the town? Poolesville the high school? Certainly both are whiter than Montgomery County as a whole, but describing them as "all-white" is flat-out inaccurate.
And just as there's no need to run down Takoma Park and Silver Spring, there's also no need to run down Poolesville (either the town or the high school). You like where you live; that's great.
