Col E. Brooke Lee MS GTLD program. They do actually have sports in 7th and 8th, but none in 6th.
Oh, and no textbooks either.

Otherwise, with C 2.0 and levelling schools you are guaranteed the lowest level of education in the county at every school.
And what are you doing to accomplish this, besides posting on DCUM?
Would you be willing to join? Or, are you just willing to sit on the sidelines and criticize?
I would not be willing to join, because I am quite happy with MCPS, Starr, and Curriculum 2.0.
But you all go right ahead and do your thing.
This is fascinating. You seem to be the only one who likes it. Why? what is it about 2.0 that you like? I am not being snarky, I am genuinely curious.....I am fairly new to MCPS.

I bet there are schools out there that parents are happy with in MoCo, but in our neck of the woods the facilities are inadequate and long range planning totally botched things with respect to population growth and has left our community in a borderline crisis situation. The politics of it gets really old really fast, and even if the superintendent wanted to make improvements, any additional construction will take forever to be approved and completed.
Don't let the door hit you in your ass. If I can ask where are you going?
To a private school with a snazzy gym, natch. Didn't you know that's what education is all about?
Nope. Going to Arlington. No fancy gym. Nicer/smaller/less-overwhelmed/less-politicized school district. Happy to leave what has become a total mess, and one that seems to be getting worse not better. Have you seen those kids testifying about the roof caving in at their school? The ones who bring parts of their crumbling buildings to BOE meetings? The ones who explain that they've been promised improved facilities for more than a decade, only to get crossed out of the budget anew every time it comes up. That's the MoCo I live in, and it doesn't have room for us. So we're leaving. Have a nice day.

Sure folks on here can snark about how we should do something and not just post on here, but what? We are talking about a multi-billion dollar system with a hell of a lot of power. There has to be an outside entity with the power and clout to help parents. Is there some anti common-core organization that could help organize parents?
