$26k/yr for full-time montessori preschool for 3 year old.

$28k/yr for infant care at same school for 5 mo old.

HHI: $280K. We prepay tuition for the year (save 2.5%) so we don't feel it every month.

That's a lot of money, I didn't realize preschool charged 2100-2300 a month.

The school we are doing costs an arm and a leg, so I wouldn't say this is typical. We do it because it is close to our home (so good logistics) and is a true preschool (with trained/educated teachers) that has an aftercare component.

I think we send our 3 year old to the same preschool. And are not excited that there is no second child discount.

that is a rip off some people are ignorant

Sure, some people are ignorant, but probably not the dozens of couples with multiple graduate degrees who choose to send their kids there. Fortunate, yes. Entitled, maybe. Ignorant, no.

My children do not have childcare costs as they are in HS. However we do have summer trip costs, orchestra trip costs, private music lessons, increased car insurance costs, braces costs, increased food costs (!) and of course saving for college costs. Count on spending what ever you are spending until they are launched.

HHI- 190,000
3 kids (11,9, 4)
Before and After school care for older kiddos- 944/month
Little one is $1021 per month for our childcare provider and 229.00 for three day a week (half day) preschool

So excited because next year all three will be in full time school! It is like getting a raise.

Why do you have a nanny if both your kids are in full time school? Do you do any parenting yourself?

"Fulltime" school covers about 50% of the hours needed for a fulltime job +commute. Some do b/a programs, others do nannies.

She sounds very under compensated. Is she part time?

Perhaps live- in?

Wow, I can't believe that rate. Our nanny for one child gets around 40k after paying for her taxes, etc.
