He was reprimanded, sorry.

http://www.federalnewsradio.com//525/3189463/Fed-agency-retracts

The reprimand letter, which runs four pages and is dated Dec. 10, charges the Social Security Administration employee with "conduct unbecoming a federal employee" and "creating a hostile work environment" because of the repeated gas passing.

It says coworkers didn't want to work with the person because of the problem, which the employee seems to have attributed to lactose intolerance. The letter also contains a chart documenting 60 instances of flatulence, nine on one day in September.

I had a silent, but deadly in a meeting today and totally thought of you, OP!

Thankfully he quit a short time later. He was very odd, strange manorism's, and very happy we're free of him!

This is a joke, right?

This is possibly the funniest thing I have read on here in a long time.

it all depends on if you are attractive or not, and whether or not the other two were males. a hot girl (and law firms have few, so I'm guessing no) can get away with that, the rest of us cannot.

When I started my new job three years ago, I shared an office with a particular colleague. Within a week of starting, three separate people came up to me to ask if he was "still farting." I'm not kidding, they all used the same language and were very interested to hear. Apparently he was known for farting loudly and then defending the practice when questioned.

He wasn't still farting, but he did clip his fingernails in the office (almost daily) and ate nuts with such abandon that it looked like I shared an office with a fucking squirrel. Good times.

If his name came up, there was an inevitable discussion of how gross he was. No one wanted him anywhere near a client. I think OP just let one slip and is not in this category of gross but anyone who thinks they can fart in a meeting undetected is kidding themselves.

omg

This is so funny!

I still (over 10 years later) enjoy telling a story about the time someone very high up in my company farted in my office and didn't acknowledge it. In fact, this person was rather known for this. Didn't affect their career at all, so that's the good part. Of course, I don't work in the super-uptight world of biglaw...

Who say "ripped ass" anyway? OP has other reasons to worry about her job.
