Yes, clearly I did. Thanks for the correction. I hope you understood anyway and will have something else to contribute.

I love ours. When contractors are over they take up space, but otherwise it’s great for the kids.

I think they’re great! Good to live on. Kids and neighborly interactions.

Hate them, especially in my area of NoVa where people often park perpendicular to the curb, filling the entire “sac” with cars

OP here. Nope, I love open floor plans.

Ha! I don't like culs-des-sacs (shouldn't both the plural?) or open floor plans, but I do like close-in suburbs. There's a lid for every pot (true for dating and for home ownership, I guess).

1. Both culs-de-sac and cul-de-sacs are correct. It is my favorite plural for this reason. People like the op who “corrected” OP are insufferable.

2. I adore living on my cul-de-sac, but it’s spacious. Why not drive by at different times and see how it changes in the evening, on the weekend, etc.?

We're on a cul de sac. Homes are at a premium because it means no drive thru traffic which is a big problem in our area.

I currently live at the end of a cul-de-sac and I also work from home. I am constantly yelling at people who don't even live in our neighborhood to shut up and stop hanging out right outside my house. They claim it's a public street, but don't I have any rights to keep them away? There are always toys, bikes, kids blocking the end of my driveway and one of these days I'm going to hit one of them. At certain times of the day, then sun is blinding and I can't see backing out of my driveway. I wish the Damm kids would just stay in their own yards, or let the parents take them to the massive rail trail to ride their bikes on. They don't need to ride around in a circle a thousand times, screaming like idiots while people are trying to work!

No way on earth would I want to live with the "same age and stage". Singed, BTDT (no longer in a fish bowl and its amazing)

No one is forcing you -- it also costs 20% more.

That's a bit of an exaggeration, I think. I would guess maybe 5% more based on what I've seen.

We live in one and love it. It's a very wide circle and no one parks on it on a regular basis, only guests. We like that the traffic is only our neighbors and the UPS/Fed-ex and mail trucks. Kids play outside in it and we gather in our driveways when it's warm outside. It makes it feel like our own little place in the world.

I live on one except I'm on the straight part of the road before it end in a a large circle. The only bad thing I have found is that the snow plough doesn't come thru.

We've had a block party. All the neighbors know each other. Have not seen any strange parking techniques. I have witness the neighborhood watch effect work in person when a strange weirdo came by one time.

If you do not love the block party in front of your house, cul de sac may not be the best choice.
