What offends me are my friends who either do not work or barely work, who will in face benefit from all my earnings over the years. Seriously, I can't even think about it because it angers me so much. (PS - read President Clinton's report on SS/Medicare --so scary.)
This is what bothers me too. I wouldn't have as much of a problem paying in if I knew I would also be getting back at some point. Given that I won't retire for 35 more years, it's pretty unlikely that I'll get very much. The system is a mess.
It's frustrating, but I'm not saying we should stop paying for all of the old people. We can't exactly take away their benefits out of nowhere . . . but yes, not pleased to be paying more for something that I'll probably never get the benefit of.
Baloney. You'll get your benefits, unless you die young.

Do you plan to enroll in Medicare eventually? Do you have aging parents or in-laws or neighbors who depend on Medicare? Yeah, you do. So shaddup.
Isn't Medicare forced ?

Nice little $1500 surprise when I did my taxes yesterday. Ugh.

I am so glad I don't live inside DC (and away from all you psycho ideologue transplants) because you are the kind of people that disgust and annoy ME. You are the modern day hippie weirdos - but worse than a hippie. You aren't even happy or loving or peace-making. Just hateful and angry.

a "term of art"? .... perhaps among the artless and Neanderthal boors the PP hangs out with, but not among people with any decent level of sensitivity or civility ... I'm not hateful or angry at you, PP, because you're such a clueless tool. I just think it's pathetic.![]()
