Your post is internally inconsistent.
In DC its more important where you went to high school tham where yo went to college. Sorry you don't like that or wish it weren't so.

Anonymous wrote:I have to say that having grown up here in DC, Landon has never had a strong reputation. It was always a school where wealthy families could send their sons, who would otherwise not have a chance at any of the better top tier DC schools (i.e. STA and Sidwell.) I believe it's an easy school to get into, and I think many families are happy there. [/quotI
I posted this-- and to clarify, Landon is not, and never was, in the top tier of DC area private schools.
Well .. er .. technically none of the wrongs occurred at campus, but a young man who spent four years on Landon's campus did murder a girl four years after graduating and a Landon grad was part of a group that hired strippers four years after graduating from high school.

Could you, perhaps, elucidate on their wrongs?

I guess Landon gets the bad rep because they happened to have 4 boys on the roster that year. The captain of the team that year was a Prep alum. Not sure why Landon gets any type of rep for the Duke scandal just because they had 4 kids on the team - more than any other high school at the time.
In your mind, I guess all of the Landon kids on the Princeton lacrosse roster are complete dopes and live the frat culture.

The accusations against the Duke lacrosse players were a total fabrication. She, the accuser, selected the targets randomly from pictures she was shown by the now disgraced prosecutor.
These young men were falsely accused and were shown to be completely innocent.
The crime of these Landon boys and the others --- in the mind of the critics --- is they attended a rowdy college party.
I'm not a big Landon fan, but attempting to to tar Landon with this brush says more about the person doing it than it does Landon.
Anonymous wrote:The offenses committed by Landon's administration and board either actively or by omIssion are documented and undeniable. Landon's legacy is inescapable at present. However, a good place to start would be to behave like noble men and women and to attempt to correct past wrong-doings.
Has the administration or the board at Landon ever sought redemption or atonement for the wrongs they have committed? If they did so they might be forgiven and their future students would no longer have to carry the burden of the Landon "chip" of "Landon Against the World".
Generation after generation something strange happens at Landon. Nice kids go in and an unusual number of mean spirited kids come out. I believe the change occurs when those kids assume ownership of the Landon Legacy.
If the administration and board sought redemption and atonement, Landon could change its legacy and in doing so they could more effectively steer a more positive course in their future.

Yeah, when your son is in college, and his team has a rowdy party, your son is going to be the one who stands up and says, "Fella, gosh darn it, this is just inappropriate behavior for young men of our socio-economic status."
Let me know how that works out for him.
In the AA community, this is exactly what we expect of our sons because they will be the first accused and the first to go to jail or shot.
