Franklin Montessori on Conn Ave is an excellent school and has a very welcoming community of parents and teachers. There are several same-sex parents with kids who attend. It has a very multiethnic/racial mix of parents and kids.

Another poster mentioned Little Folks. We looked at Little Folks a number of years ago and while I think it's a charming school and know several families who loved it, the director said flat-out at the open house that it wasn't a diverse school (I think largely because most of the people who apply and attend live in Georgetown - not exactly a model of diversity). But that may have changed in recent years.

I have to disagree, or partially disagree. It's true that LF may not be diverse from a socio-economic perspective, but it definitely was one of the most diverse from an ethnic/cultural point of view and this begins with the director who happens to have firsthand experience and understanding. It also one of the most diverse in terms of teachers, more than any school we visited.

When Julius Caesar crossed the Rubicon, he went from Roman territory into Cisalpine Gaul -- i.e., the Gaul that was on this side of the Alps, from the point of view of the Romans. On the other side of the Alps was Transalpine Gaul.
