I was surprised that only NWS had forecasted it not Washington Post. This was the forecast for my zip. Is it really that hard to believe that a weather forecast was that wrong?

What about kids who walk to school? The walk for some of my kids' friends is a little less than a mile--that's a long time to be out in the cold, and not everyone can afford winter coats.

You either have the wrong zip code entered or it said "flurries" which never materialized. There was never a forecast for snow today with the cold front moving through.

I really hope they reconsider. I almost think that our unfamiliarity with these temps make people on this site and, probably in MCPS quite cavalier. If we saw these temps more often, chances are we'd be much more cautious about sending buses and children out in this cold.

I teach Ina portable. It is like a sauna in there. All the time.

Yes I HAVE taught in a portable. Actually better than the main building as I could control the heat and the A/C. The little ones can be outside for the 2 or 3 minutes it will take to go to the main building for the bathroom, lunch, etc.

This isn't armageddon! It's winter! Colder than normal tomorrow but NOT the end of the freaking world!

My son is in a portable and he says they keep it very warm. He plans on stripping down to just his t-shirt while in class.
