On the other hand, white preppy guys have no preferences whatsoever. They would all be thrilled to marry a middle class, average looking, average job, mediocre college woman, if only they knew how much she is into their lifestyle.

I would just read up on the species and go where they go. Get a subscription to Garden and Gun magazine. Wear quilted jackets and tall boots. Take a girlfriend and treat yourself to a weekend at salamander resort or the homestead. Do you go to gold cup? Go and buy tickets to get on The Hill, don't go w the masses. Take a weekend sailing lesson around st michaels this summer. Go to the So Others Mightt Eat Ball or figure out how to snag tickets to the Meridian Ball. Go to twilight polo in the summer out at great meadows. Have you ever been skeet shooting? Go and then mention it in conversation. If you don't know these references then google them, follow up, and then talk about it. Men will know you know their little WASP language.

However these things sort of reference southern WASPs who can be so sexist and unevolved you'll want to shoot yourself.

I am surprised that many Indians do not want their kids to marry Blacks or Whites.

I would have thought that Whites would be more acceptable, but I guess the point is that no one wants to go outside the race.

It's a part of the "lifestyle" you so admire. You are eager to demand the world of your hypothetical husband but are dismissive of any demand that could be asked of you.

OP, I can relate to you a bit. At the age of 18, I met the man that is now my husband. I'm white, my husband is AA. I had never really considered marrying outside of my race and my parents had never said not to. I was raised in a catholic, middle class family. My family is pretty accepting. Anyway, my husband and I met unexpectantly one night and really hit it off fast. My husband's family has is very well educated and financially well off. They had wanted my husband to date black women but were very accepting of me and admitted to being apprehensive of my parents reaction to our relationship. Nearly twelve years later, we're happily married and raising children together. If you want to "find" a husband, stop looking. Just get out and socialize. Enjoy your time doing things you like and you will eventually meet someone of any race.

Does it have to be a white guy? Because there are black preps out there. Maybe you could volunteer for Jack and Jill and then use that to find out where the single, black prep guys are hanging out, or to get someone to introduce you to her brother.

If it is a white guy that you are after, maybe you could try joining the Junior League. That would probably help you network.
