Just because the Germantown guy happens to be the manager at Hamburger Hamlet and one of his servers is a washout from B-CC, does not mean that a majority of B-CC graduates don't go on to more prestigious universities and stand-out careers than students who attended Germantown schools.

Please don't insult him by assuming he's a manager at Hamburger Hamlet.

It's very possible he manages around the corner at DSW.

Good grief. Is this what people in Bethesda consider humor?

You must know by now that most posters on DCUM have no souls.

why not make Einstein, Springbrook, Watkins Mill, etc test in programs, too? They all have IB programs.

But here's the deal. A test-in isn't inclusive. It automatically weeds out kids from the start. If you opt into the DP program (grades 11 and 12) and work hard, you may not earn the top scores on the assessments, but you will have challenged yourself.

That's the thinking.

However, oftentimes, kids choose a certificate over a diploma, and some even drop out b/c it's too intense.

It's not for everyone, and it limits the number of electives you can take. So if journalism is your thing, it may not fit into your schedule if you're doing IB.
