I like the preschool way of donating to one pot of money that gets evenly distributed to all the teachers and aids as a holiday bonus and the giving is anonymous.
I agree with this but the problem is that many parents don't bother then to participate at all. These aren't people who can't afford it but there are plenty who don't get around to doing it and others for whom they aren't used to culturally giving money to anyone beyond family and extended family.
