If you put a kid in a super puffy coat in a car seat, the straps often don't fit right. I thought this was overprotective hysteria but then I realized how stiff and puffy my sons coat is; it really does make a difference.

My 17 month old pulled off his socks and shoes in his stroller today and we walked half a mile with his BARE FEET STICKING OUT from under the blanket. Call CPS!!!

Seriously, your baby is more at risk from overheating than it is from 1 minute without at hat in 37 degree weather.

I have never worn a hat in my life and my head has never been cold.

37 degrees is not that cold. I would be sweating if I wore a hat when its 37 degrees.

My baby was advanced, so he told me himself that he didn't mind being cold. So, I left his hat off. Then, he told me that he did mind not being able to socialize with other babies who were as advanced as he was ("slobbering, illiterate blobs" is how he referred to the other 6 month old babies in his playgroup). But when I posted about the latter concern on DCUM, I was ridiculed. You can't win.

I notice that white people tend to do this dumb shit more freuently than other races. I was going into target potomac yards on saturday and saw this little boy dressed in at shirt, green gym shorts and pink crocs in less than 40 degree weather.

He was standing outside the car talking to his parents and siblings.

Wtf.

People in this town can be a little bonkers with bundling up the kid.
