I think I can beat this
I have a younger sister. I got married first, but we didn't have a wedding. Our families live in different parts of the world, and my parents were not happy I was marrying him. We barely got any congratulations, not to mention any gifts.
My sister had a lavish wedding a few years later in our home country which my parents organized and paid for.
This was years ago, and the dynamics are much different now. My parents wanted to fix this - after my sister's wedding and realizing how unequal this must all seem to me, my dad said he was planning to give me a large amount of cash as a belated wedding gift, but then they got into a lot of financial difficulties and my sister and I support them now. Actually my sister just paid off their mortgage for them. My parents also adore DH now.
My point is, you never know the thought behind something like this, and you shouldn't assume it came from a place where they intended to give you less. I would let it go.
