We are at $14K take home and $2,200 piti. I dream of the day I hit $17k take home... That would open up some crazy possobilites. Kudos to you for living well below your theoretical means.

Mortgage is just under $1800 and take home averages $8k -- self employed so monthly income varies

No childcare expenses or car payment, DW is SAH with 1 DC. But it is still tight, I am hoping to have at least $300 left each month for the rainy day.
