The real private school parents write on this forum when they are mad about something, or when something wonderful happens. The rest are just pretenders. If you go to the school you can tell they have never been there. Just wannabes.

Very few people apply out of these schools once they are in. There are exceptions, but very few. Parents and children are happy in these schools and the envious and jealous hate that fact. It helps them feel better to try to tear these people and instituitons down.
Truth hurts - but its mostly about trying to make themselves feel better and good about themselves.
Remember what season this is....admissions! There are people here who are so devious that they will do anything to discourage people from even considering applying. That just increases the odds for their snowflake who probably won't even get in because of their devious parent(s).Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I think there is some truth in what was said. I don't know if it is jealousy or envy but I will add my perspective. My kid goes to one of the schools that is constantly trashed on this site and our experience has been completely different than most of the stereotypes that are repeated here. This has led me to conclude that most of the haters of this particular school actually know very little about it.
My own experience is the same as the underlined part. The DCUM stories about my kids' school are rarely accurate.
I don't know people post false info. It's probably a wide variety of reasons. Some might be envious, others might be retaliating because of a rejection, others might just be passing along rumors they've heard, others might be steeling themselves for the rough application process, others might be from rival schools and think it's fun to trash the competition, and others might be pure trolls with no agenda other than causing trouble.

Oh my. And where does your snowflake attend school, may we ask? Because your post sets a new standard, or should I say it lowers the bar, for smugness and hate.

For those that were rude, I guess I get it now ..I wasn't even asking about a particular school and was subjected to insults. So some folks are just angry, I guess. So I have read through as much as I can on this forum and from the postings it is clear that ...
StA's is overprivileged
Sidwell full of perverts
Landon is for felons
Maret is only for DC residents
Bullis is not academic
Sheeesh! I guess I will go back to the drawing board and stick with my visits and my gut. Or, if anyone has anything constructive to say about these, I am all ears.

Bottom line: If you make snarky jerk comments, please stop.
If we're here for entertainment, it's valid to ask which provides the better entertainment.
It seems to me a big problem is that while some of you post snark here for entertainment, other of us are actually trying to exchange useful information. Maybe we should create a separate education forum for people who squabble for entertainment.
