I meant to say $2000 for medical flex.

HHI is 200k almost exactly.
Take home is about 10500.

Seems about on the mark depending on insurances/etc

I am right around this as well -

HHI $208K
Take Home - $11K

I wonder why mine is low. HHI is $200k and take home is $9450 (based on 2 * biweekly pay). And this amount will go down starting from January as I am not playing for SS, Medicare, etc. now.

Are you contributing to Dependent care and health care flex? $9450 is after the flex contributions ($5000 for dependent care and $200 health care flex)?

Our salaries are 300k combined and we take home about 15k per month. This covers all our expenses. We save our bonuses. DH and I get bonuses of 200k+. In 2013, I think our total HHI will be about $700k but I am not sure exactly how much net will be until we do our taxes.

That's after taxes, insurance, and maxing out 401K.

Thanks for this thread-feeling right on with others!
HHI $147K
Take home $6,500

Wow our HHI is $145 and take home is $8700. Health insurance, parking, and 5% 401k deductions and we don't owe anything at tax time.

5% 401K isn't very much.

You pay less than 19% between SS, fed, and state taxes?

Oops you're right. I just checked my bank statement and I'm not even close to 7200/per paycheck. I wish. Tired tired tired.

Only one person in household - but pay insurance for 2 people? Are you posting just your salary info or HHI?

Anonymous wrote:I was reading on some other thread awhile ago and someone with a much higher HHI than us was not actually taking home that much more each month. So that made me curious- I'll start:

HHI: 65k
Family size- couple with one dd
Take home after taxes/insurance: Just a hair under 4k
We live in MD.

What??
At 92,000, with 401k, insurance, taxes taken out, I brought home 4,300 per four weeks. Dc resident.

An individual or a couple? HHI means everyone's salary in household

I'm $82K as well, take home $4,250 monthly after IRA (7%) and health insurance deductions. And I thought my take home was low!

This is PP - I am depressed now! I wonder what I am doing wrong... ??

CHeck your tax withholdings. That does seem very low.

I'm the $82 with the $4250 take home. All my health insurance deductions are through an HSA and cafeteria plan, so my taxes may be lower than yours.
