I think your dh is unnecessarily worried. At my dd's school, some moms show up in hot pants (or showing a ton of cleavage), while some look like devour Mennonites. Some kids have two daddies, some have no daddy. Even if you wore a St. John's suit every day and looked perfect in every way it wouldn't matter. If some kid wanted to be a jerk, they'd find something to be a jerk about.
I do agree with PPs who said that you may want to consider some branching out and modernizing if you've had the same style for 25 years. One of my friends from high school has had the exact same haircut since we were 15, and we're damn close to 50 now. It's a little creepy, IMO.
That said, her hairstyle does work for her, and if I hadn't known her all these years I don't think I'd think twice about it.
Do what works for you, and fsck 'em if they don't like it. But some consideration as to whether or not you're in a rut might be worthwhile. A little red dress to surprise the hubby never hurt.
