APS gets no love from US News, best schools in state per USNWR are mostly FCPS

Asian families with smart kids want to be in Fairfax

APS is white bread territory for people who are worried their kids couldn't hold their own in a top system

Better luck next year.

Still missing the point... schools systems with more "disadvantaged" kids are obviously going to have lower AVERAGE scores. That doesn't mean those systems are inferior to other districts with fewer "disadvantaged" kids taking the test. Of course a district with 75% minority kids is going to have lower AVERAGE scores than a district with 25% minority kids. That's why it's relevant IMO to compare the portions that AREN'T minority/disadvantaged from district A with the same group in district B.

But, you go ahead and feel proud that FCPS overall was higher than Arlington overall -- if that makes you feel secure at night, fine.

BTW -- my kids are in FCPS... so I want the scores to be the best, but reality says they are not.

Yeah, pretty much.

Smaller class sizes.
No need for that stupid AAP bullshit (all Arlington kids are advanced).
HB Woodlawn AND access to TJ.

Yeah. Arlington's where it is at.
