I'm a lifelong Democrat whose child is close friends with the child of several diehard Republicans...and you know what? I couldn't care less what their political affiliation is. They're a great family with terrific kids.
Mixing it up is good for both parents and kids.

We are Democrats at SFS with two kids in upper school, and both have friends that lean Republican (or at least their families do)...and I think PP is correct that a lot of the students from Virginia lean conservative. But no one cares to be honest. Unless OP is a tea party member, I think any of the privates in DC would be comfortable fit.
