AH, so you are the kind of person who travels to add a notch to the number of countries they have visited. Not PP but I have no idea how many countries I have visited. Really, who counts?! For me, I'd guess a couple of dozen or more.

The MD flag is very cool.

We live in DC now and fly that flag on "flag" holidays (except on St. Patrick's Day, when we fly an Irish flag). No US flag. Wouldn't occur to me that one needed to fly both.

Let his freak flag fly!

4. New Mexico – the only U.S. flag with a Native American symbol, the sun symbol of the Zia, on it.
5. Arizona – a bit psychedelic, but cool overall
6. Ohio – the only pennant shaped flag
7. Alaska – the bid dipper and the North Star on a field of blue
8. Tennessee
9. Colorado
10. California

It seems to me that some people are way overthinking this. We fly our flag fairly regularly in the summer, not to make a statement, but because we got a really nice quality one and it looks pretty on our colonial and blowing in the wind. We, like our neighbors, also fly sports flags. No political signs in the yard though, ugly.

Just found this flag site. They said it is fine to fly a state flag even in another state and it does not seem to require you flying the American flag also.

When I loved on a house with a flag pole, I raised a flag every day. I like how they look, I like what they symbolize. Let your husband fly his flag.

The Maryland flag is a pretty unique flag. I'm sure I see people flying them all the time. Not sure if it's with the American flag too or not, but I don't think so. Go ahead and hang it. BTW, do you live in MD or not?

I never knew there was such controversy over flying a flag. We flew our American flag when we sold our house. I thought it looked nice. Wonder if it turned anyone off? Funny thing is a veteran bought it, so maybe it helped.
