Some high schools districts in MD to consider are Whitman, Churchill, Walter Johnson, BCC and in VA you should look at McLean, Langley, Madison, and Oakton.

I agree with this - especially if you don't mind the longer commute. If I were you I would also look at Wooton cluster if you don't mind the commute. Also, if you don't mind the commute and you are commuting to SE DC - you could think about Going East - friends commute in from Howard County on the Marc train or via drive to metro - and they have very, very good schools with housing stock that is not nearly as expensive (MoCo and Fairfax are certainly not the only game in town)
You will also be closed out of alot of WJ unless you want a smaller house/smaller lot in Kensington/GP (20895, 20896, 20852)

PP is an ass.
Anonymous wrote:In Montgomery County you can't go by zipcode. One zip can feed to different schools with very different "desirability". For example, the zip code 20852 has homes that feed to Walter Johnson (Desirability Factor 10+ for most people), while others feed to Wheaton (DF 1- for most). So be careful.
Note: Of course everyone has their own assessment of desirability. I'm reflecting what seems to be the predominant opinion I read/hear. And I myself chose against WJ for my kids.
