Not after every use, but frequently. Just use a mild shampoo to wash it, and let it dry overnight. As to your other question, I haven't found that it uses more foundation than when I use my fingers to apply. I think it might even be less?

I'm 31, I've been looking a little tired lately. Last week I went and got Radiesse for my smile lines and a little bit of Botox around my eyes.

Now I only need a little bit of powder, mascara, and lipgloss to look pulled together.

I bought a foundation brush but find that, when it comes right down to it, using my fingers gives me the most even and comfortable coverage. I've had instruction in using the brush, but even so, I still prefer the old-fashioned way (smearing it on ).

Something I can't live without right now at age 43 is Anastasia's brow powder duo! Seriously...it's amazing. I've definitely begun losing the outer third of my lashes, and there are graying/missing spots at the inside of the browline. I bought this from Sephora:

I also bought a very dense, small brow brush at Sephora with which I apply the powder. I can't tell you what a difference it makes to have darker brows! And unlike a brow pencil, which always looked unnatural, the brow powder has a very natural look. Great product!

Another question about using a brush for foundation--do you go through it faster? It seems like a lot would stick to the brush and be wasted, and foundation isn't cheap!

My skin also fluctuates pretty dramatically between oily and really dry. My must haves are cliniques dramatically different lotion and cliniques even better liquid foundation. On dry days I mix a little lotion with a few drops of foundation and apply it with a stipple brush (I just use elf pro brushes, cheap but I like them) after I've moisturized. On regular skin days I just use the foundation on moisturized skin. I use cover girl sensitive skin powder on top of the liquid to set it, then some blush, mascara, and lip balm. It's simple, takes about 5 minutes, and looks pretty natural.
