I'm the poster who has seen a steady stream of bright students in DC's grade become behavior problems because they are bored and being ignored because they have already achieved proficiency. The only kids who are being pulled out are those with learning disabilities or needing remedial work.
I definitely take issue with the PP who said all the prior posters' gifted/talented children are being accommodated. That is NOT true for mine and there are many others in the same boat.
Is your experience with one school? one grade? one teacher? Just curious how widespread this problem is from your perspective. I feel like we can't get a handle on this issue because people only have the limited experience of their own school.
