I'm an Erin of the eighties. The only thing that bummed me out growing up was that all my friends had names with nicknames. Some parents would see that as a plus but I envied the Jen/Jenny/Jennifers and Tina/Chrissy/Christinas who could control what they were called day to day.

I love it. I'm another Irish Catholic.

My DS has an Erin in his 1st grade class. And an Aaron. They sound a LOT alike. She's Erin-with-an-E and he's Aaron-with-an-A.

This post cracks me up. I am an "Erin", so I guess I have a mom's name and it is not professional. I was born in the early 70s and not catholic. I honestly never would have thought of my name being " dated". I have always loved it bc so few people were named it.

Not sure why everyone is picking on PP. She raises a good point. I think Erin is nice but it will be a mom name to our kids and their peers, which may or may not be an issue, but is something OP should take into consideration in making her decision.


Erin is not that common. But those names you chose really are. ^^ (as in "common")

I love Erin. But then again, while I wouldn't necessarily choose either one, I don't mind Barbara or Carol.
