I can't imagine what 20lbs would do to someone a few inches shorter than me.


I'm 5'9" and I've gained 40 pounds and I've gone from a 10/some 12s to 12/14 50/50 split, so why don't we all agree that not everyone's body is shaped the same. I gain weight very evenly all over and tend to be the same "shape", just larger.

I'm almost as tall( 5'8") lost 30 lbs and went from a 14 to a 10. If I lose 10 more lbs I might get to an 8. Obviously experiences are different.

I feel sorry for that poster because she was not insulting OP, but making a point to someone who thinks a 20 lb weight gain = 1 dress size. Her meaning, if I may presume to speak for her, was that clothes will be way too tight on most women who gain 20 lbs but only go up one dress size.


regardless saying that someone will look like a "stuffed sausage" is uncalled for even if it isnt directed at anyone.
