As for the power couple label, why does it bother you all so much? It's a term. It is used in Washington fairly regularly. They may only weakly meet the criteria but so what. Get over it. You have to be pretty sad and pathetic to care.

Oh, were you the person who said to me that you aspire to be a "power couple"? Gag!

Ah, hardly. You are a weirdo. I don't give a damn about who is or isn't or wants to be or doesn't a power couple. I just really don't care. Whatever. I just don't get why you care such a great deal about this particular term.

You realize that decorating tastes and physical attractiveness are subjective, right? The house is nice but it isn't everyone's taste. I am ambivalent regarding her and their children's looks. It isn't jealousy, I don't know them. They are the one's who agreed to profiled in the WaPo knowing full well they would be judged. What else would be the point of the article?

She is so beautiful!

She's very pretty, but that's quite a pose--so affected. The quote he made that there was one room he "was allowed" to decorate is interesting as well.

I am surprised how bland the kitchen is with him being a chef.

I am a little confused by the gushing of this woman's beauty though. In the sense that all women are strong and their own person, and a mother and a giver and what not, yes we are all beautiful. But beautiful, physically? Cute, yeah. Pretty, ok maybe, but not particularly special. Beautiful........really? I don't see that.

I am not a beauty myself. I'm average and I know how to present myself at best. I have some very pretty friends who objectively are much better looking and I don't think they often are called "beautiful" by random strangers. Maybe I should send them to this board for a self esteem boost.

not me i prefer new

Well Nora is a heck of a lot better than skany Campbell Brown. Campbell used to live in Washington too. Was married to a Baltimore boy. The minute she got semi-famous she dumped her husband. At least Nora is loyal.

Agree. Makes me think of men like Mary Matalin and women like James Carville.

Eh, not my style. But then, I had never heard of her until this thread (don't watch network TV). I knew his name because of his boring restaurant (DH works at AU). No doubt they will be applying to put their girls in DD's Big 3 school. Yawn.
