Good luck, OP. I know people in their 60s who have had A-Fib. It is definitely treatable. Don't freak yourself out. I know you aren't in your 60s, but please remind yourself it is treatable.

How scary. Good for you for following up, and your doctor for taking it seriously. I hope the appointment tomorrow morning goes well--I'll be pulling for you.

Oh how scary, op. At least if it's something serious, it sounds like you'll be able to figure it out and take care of it. It could have been overlooked or dismissed, given your age.

Hope everything works out for you. Keep us posted. Virtual hugs!

OP Here: Just an update for PP's that wanted one! Unfortunately, things seem to be worse then I expected. I've been getting some really bad chest pain when I lay down at night and decided to go back to the DR's. They gave me an EKG and then another one to double check what was going on. From what she saw, she thinks that I might have atrial fibrillation and is having me go to a Cardiologist first thing in the morning. She seemed very concerned about this, especially given my age. I'm just crossing my fingers on this and hoping for the best.

OP: I have this also and it was from sleep apnea. That said, my docs told me that ER docs are trained in emergencies -- sewing up, traumas, etc, and that for something like this (I have numbness in arms, fainting, BP all over the place) that you need a careful and systematic checkup. This took weeks of seeing specialists and got very discouraging at times. Also sometimes they say it is all in your head/emotions. That said, in the end they pinpointed the problem and were able to help me. Doctors function better in their daily setting and in their specialties. Of course you should go to the ER if you have to, but for something more hidden, a specialitist or your internist will probably be more helpful in the end. GL OP -- you are probably too young for a stroke!

OP Here: Thank you everyone for your well wishes and concern. I went to the doctors and got a bunch of blood work done to try and figure out what was going on. I got a MRI and spinal to check for Multiple Sclerosis but that came back negative. The numbness hasn't happened since Sunday night so she didn't seem TOO concerned. She thinks it might have to do with stress and POSSIBLY a pinched nerve. I have to go back again on Tuesday (30th) to run some more tests and to see what came back on some of the blood work.
