Yet, but there are requirements to participate - most charters do not qualify and don't make it a priority. Also, I'm not sure it's from the state. I think it's a program run by Children's hospital. The way it was explained to me is that there must be a segregated nurse space with certain equipment and a minimum number of students. Sela got a facility that allows for participation in the program. They are also doing a program with George Washington University, graduate student psychology interns which is the same type deal - Sela has a staff psychologist who will work with the intern to provide treatment for children and families. We don't have either of these programs are our current charter, so we are very excited.

I would go ahead and enroll and when you get to DC, tour the facility. They are having an event with other language immersion charter schools in mid-May on preparing for attendance in language immersion program. I think it will be in their building. One of the Board members mentioned it to me last night. You can always go somewhere else if you get off a WL at a more established program (don't hate on me, DCUM, we all know it happens). I was also on the fence, but I have been convinced. My DC is in K, and there were several sweet K students there last night. I think it's going to be a great group of kids.
