The place sure isn't Nordstrom. Between there and Needless Markup, I just stopped shopping there. They won't accept returns after 30 days, and it takes weeks to see a credit returned to a credit card, versus Nordstrom which credits your card, or hands you cash back, immediately. Agree, the customer service is inflexible.

Thanks. I will try this first. I could go the eBay route but im not sure I would be able to sell them for enough to get another pair in my size. Though I guess I have lived without them for a year so maybe I'd be better off getting totally different shoes, idk. I was kind of hoping someone would say they had a too-small pair and we could have some serendipitous shoe trading and all would be right with asks and the universe.

I wouldn't try to exchange at a different store but I would try again at another Saks. Ask for the manager, be polite, take them out of the box to prove they've never been worn. If they're still sold, in stock, and in brand new condition I really don't see the problem.

Wow- people continue to shock me. How can anyone think it's okay to return something a year later or to think it's okay to exchange something at a different store from where the item was purchased???
