But all these retail places are in Pimmit Hills - Paxton Rd dead ends at the shops. I am only a few blocks away, but I can see how maybe people on the other end of the neighborhood like maybe on Anderson Rd might not be within a short walking distance. Of course, with this crap weather, I drive anyway despite it being only a couple blocks.

Point being is that it's changing a lot and the old houses don't look too bad especially the brick ones near lisle and north.

It's worth checking out. You might like it, or the "My Name is Earl" vibe that lingers might send you running. Until I drove around PH, I assumed it was a lot more run down that it actually is, but you need an open mind and a tolerance for some seriously weird houses to see yourself at home there.


this post made me laugh. there definitely was that my name is earl vibe back in the 80s/90s. haven't been there recently, but I have to say that I've always thought that area would eventually be "gentrified" - if that's the right word - given it's location.

If i lived in PH, I would totally walk there. The TJ's parking lot is insane! Worse than Whole Foods across the street. Ci soul walk there but t's a little bit far for me (on the other side of Idylwood Road).
