Our AART told me that she is still working on comp,eying the screening files? Weren't these due last month to gatehouse? Regardless, I emailed and referenced the my right to the file and will get a copy next week.

My point in saying that "not being in the pool does not mean a student is that much less likely to make AAP" is that a referred student has almost the same chance of making AAP as a pool kid. Yes, a parent obviously needs to do the referral, but not being in the pool is not the kiss-of-death for AAP.

Methinks you need to read the Parent Information Packet on the AAP Website. Of course the committee will not consider kids who are neither in the pool nor parent referred (although technically a teacher or non-parent could fill out the referral form, I've never heard of that happening in real life). If your kid is not in the pool and you did not submit a timely parent referral, I hope you are not holding your breath waiting for an AAP admittance letter to arrive on May 1 . . .
