They shouldn't be able to stop you--those are YOUR embryos. However, when I was transferring frozen sperm, the lab lackey told me that I needed a doctor's sign off AFTER he reviewed my file--when it had nothing to do with my treatment.
Since I was hopped up on estrogen, plus it was outrageous, I made clear, and probably not in a nice tone of voice, that I was picking up my vials on a particular day when I'd secured a tank, and that I expected all necessary paperwork to be done so that I could TAKE MY PROPERTY. I even told her I'd be pretty outraged if a cleaner tried to keep a designer suit and the sperm was more expensive and more precious than that and that they were not keeping it. I told her that if there were any holdups, I'd be camping out until a doctor came out, reviewed my records, and signed in front of me.
It took a lot of back and forth between the sperm bank and two clinics (GW and destination clinic), but I was NOT going to accept that they had any right to prevent me from doing as I pleased with MY property that they were just storing.
Hideous industry we're forced to deal with, as we all know.
All the moreso for embryos, which are your potential children! I know a friend transferred hers from SG to another clinic, so it's not an industry-wide thing. With the current understaffing, I can't imagine they are going to stry to stop you from transferring youru embryos to another c linic. They don't have the staff for your FET, and they don't have the staff to fight you if you decide to make a fuss.
