Agree with PP that Central's burger is amazing. Not cheap but totally worth it. Fries are delicious too.

Melt way out in Leesburg was pretty good too. Didn't know Central had burgers.

Another vote for Kraze burger!
For a little more upscale, the burger at Central is fantastic!

if you want a big juicy gourmet burger, try Timothy Dean Burger, but you have to venture to PG County to get it... he was a former top chef contestant. the burgers are huge and really good and not expensive.

I'm suprised no one has mentioned Jonny Rockets.

They are like a more restaurant version of In-n-Out (which IS the best burger in the world). They do relish and you can put ketchup and mayo and grilled onions on it to make it "animal style."

CA native here. I have always sung the praises of in-and-out, my husband has always been a 5 guys fan. Last time we were in San Diego, I actually wasn't impressed with in-and-out. Not sure if they've gone downhill or my tastes have evolved. Or maybe the problem was that it was like 11 pm. I wouldn't go so far to say that 5 guys is superior but lately I haven't found in-and-out to be all that it's cracked up to be.

A few weeks ago I went to Rays the Third - they are serving the old Rays Hell Burger menu. I am actually not one to fawn over a burger but whoa boy it was delicious.

I wouldn't cross the street for In & Out.

They're a victim of high expectations set by people with no taste.

Wow, this explains the incredible proliferation of Five Guys. I had it once and did NOT like it, and I am far from a health food nut. Way too greasy, I don't get it.
