Do this and become known as the really cheap mom. I think you should order between 8-10 pizzas. You always want your guests to feel like there is more than enough to eat.
I don't care if you think I'm a really cheap mom. My kid isn't friends with YOU, he's friends with YOUR KID, so that's who we invited and that's who we'll plan to feed. The birthday party for my child is not about the adults.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:OP here.thanks for the feedback. The kids are six, so parents may or may not stay. I think I'll do a combo of pizza and more grown-up finger sandwiches, because I know at least two kids don't like pizza. There will be a variety for everyone to choose from. And fruit kebabs. Hope that's good enough for a mid afternoon party.
That sounds good to me

I wholeheartedly disagree. If the party falls near a mealtime, it is totally rude not to feed the parents (unless we are talking about a party for like 8 year olds-I have preschoolers so that is the age group I'm envisioning). I cannot tell you how many sideways glances were exchanged at a recent birthday party where it was announced that only the kids could have pizza. This was at a 3 year old's party, so every child was there with at least one parent.
My family went to another small party, mostly adults, to celebrate a 2nd birthday, and there were 5 pizzas for about 30 people. The pizza was gone in like three minutes. We left because we were starving. We hadn't had nearly enough. We didn't even stay for cake. The party was at 5pm.

Yikes, sounds like you should have ordered more.
