Really, people. So many idiotic answers. To OP, there are republicans, as demarcated by "Republican Clubs" and Junior Federalist Society clubs at many many (if not nearly all) schools, even the most liberal. Students these days may have voted majority for Obama, but you didn't say your son needs to be in the majority - he'll find like minded students anywhere. Usually the slam on universities is that faculty are liberal. This is true. So if you're looking for faculty who are republicans, that is a different question. In my dept we even have a couple of republicans.... But most professional faculty try to keep apolitical or to be clear when they are making editorial comments.

Way to lose sight of the original question. The question was whether Dems live in Occupy tents or run the country - and the answer is clearly that Dems run the country. Even you admit that Dems have run the House since 2006 and the White House since 2009. We can debate endlessly about who let the Fed abandon regulating Wall Street (hint: GWB), but let's not side track this any more.

Congressional turnover aside, your guy was in the White House through January 2009. It's his tax cuts in 2001 and 2003 that turned the Clinton surplus into the Bush deficit. Any more, and we'll have to take this to the Political forum.

I'm surprised Clarement McKenna was only mentioned once on this thread. OP- CMC is clearly your choice. Strong liberal arts college- and faculty is evenly split R and D-- which makes it out to be about the most conservative faculty in the country.

This is really not a stupid question at all- I'm not sure why all the hate in the thread.

OPL What makes you say that a school is liberal or conservative?

I am liberal and I went to UVA. I found friends of various opinions and was the better for it. I never really thought about attending a school for political reasons.

Pepperdine. It's Republican dominant. Not just tolerated. Militant. Your DC wont be exposed to a single liberal idea unless it is in the name of ridicule. Almost like going to college on the Fox News set.
